License Key Recovery
If you lost your license key, here is how to get it back.
Method 1 Gumroad library (fastest)
- Go to gumroad.com/library
- Sign in with the email address you used to purchase ClipForge.
- Find ClipForge in your library.
- Click "View product."
- Your license key is shown on the product page. Copy it.
If you used Gumroad as a guest checkout, you do not have a library. Use Method 2.
Method 2 Receipt email
The original receipt email from Gumroad contains your license key. Search your inbox for the sender noreply@customers.gumroad.com and the subject containing "ClipForge."
The key is in the body of the email, formatted as four groups of characters separated by dashes.
Method 3 Email support
If Methods 1 and 2 do not work:
- Email jgarci.lugo+clipforge@gmail.com from the address you used to purchase.
- Subject: "License recovery."
- Body: include your full name as it appears on the receipt, and the approximate date of purchase if you remember it.
You will get a response within 2 business days, usually faster, with your license key resent.
We will only send the key to the email address on the original purchase record. This is a security measure — it prevents anyone else from claiming your key.
Common issues
"My key does not activate, it says invalid."
- Confirm you copied the entire key including all dashes.
- Confirm you do not have extra spaces at the start or end.
- Confirm you are running v0.2.3 or newer. Earlier versions cannot activate keys issued after their release.
- If the key still does not activate, email support with the error message shown in the activation dialog.
"My key worked once and now says deactivated."
- The license re-checks against Gumroad about once every 30 days. The re-check is skipped gracefully if the network is unavailable. If the key is reported as deactivated, reactivate by entering it again in Help → Manage license. No new purchase is needed.
- If you replaced your computer or did a clean OS install, the machine fingerprint changes. Email support and we will reset the activation count.
"I switched computers."
You can install on machines you personally control. There is a soft limit of three concurrent activations. If you have moved between three machines and the fourth one will not activate, email support and we will reset older activations.
"I lost the email address I purchased with."
This is the hardest case. Email support from any working address with: your full name, the credit card last 4 digits used for purchase, and the approximate date. We can usually find the order in the Gumroad dashboard and confirm your identity, then reissue the key to a new email.
